Pilates is a system of exercises devised by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s, which, when done consistently, results in better strength, flexibility, posture, and mental awareness. Rather than coming out of a workout feeling exhausted, this set of exercises, performed on the mat in a set order, results in a feeling of refreshment, and centeredness. Along with serving students new to Pilates, this class will also challenge the intermediate student, as you practice the details of the method and fine tune your technique.

Pilates Mat-Mixed Level
Re-discover your powerhouse--the muscles of the abdominals, lower back, hips and buttocks. Pilates will strengthen and tone muscles, improve your posture, flexibility, balance and enhance your physical and emotional well-being. Janet Richards, certified Pilates instructor, will provide individual attention and a supportive environment to make even brand-new beginners feel at ease."

Pilates Core Challenge
Transform familiar mat exercises into something new by adding simple props for added resistance--enhancing the strengthening and toning benefits of your matwork routine. Every move is a delicate mix of balance, control, flexibility and strength. A total body workout from head to toe. Certified Pilates instructor, Janet Richards will share her experience and love of Pilates as you learn new Pilates moves and share laughs.

Rush Hour Pilates
Elements of Horton modern movements and basic Wu Shu techniques are thread into a traditional Mat Pilates format generating an essential flow that stimulates, isolates, strengthens, stabilizes and stretches from the upper back to the tailbone. "The Rush" will accelerate your metabolism with core work, upper and lower body muscle endurance, and cardio challenge.
