T'ai Chi/Chi-gong is gentle but powerful movement that comes from the traditional Chinese healing arts, as a way to train the body and mind to align with the inner flow of energy. Sometimes called Chinese yoga, Tai Chi/ Chi Gong strengthens and tones the internal organs, the musculoskeletal system, and the nervous system as well as cultivating concentration and internal stillness.
T'ai Chi is exercises choreographed into a routine that helps not only improvement and maintenance of physical health but also helps to improve memory and mental acuity. Chi-gong is exercises that focus on the movement of life force, or qi (chi) through pathways in the body to improve the health of all the organ systems. Qigong is an integral part of T'ai Chi. T'ai Chi/Chi-gong well known for helping with arthritis, balance, breathing, immunity, stress reduction, and much more. Each class will teach you exercises that you can do on your own. No equipment is needed.

Peter has been teaching movement and meditation in the Washington, DC area since 1972. He is certified in deep muscle and polarity therapy, and has a Masters degree in Social Work with many years in mental health work. He developed Nature Therapy to utilize the gifts of the natural world for healing and personal growth. Since the early 90's he has been studying, practicing and teaching Qigong and mindfulness meditation. |
