Strawberry Spinach Salad

Growing up, every Sunday was family dinner at my grandparents. It was a great time to catch up, eat great food and relax with family. Looking back, I cherish the memories I have but grateful to have the recipes to share with my loved ones.

 Now the meals always changed but during the warmer months, a salad staple in our dinners was my grandma’s favorite salad…. A Strawberry Spinach Salad. Now over the years, especially depending on my mood or cravings I have altered this recipe. You can add many things to the salad, like protein, blueberries, pineapple, nuts, and other salad toppings.

5 c. packed baby spinach (5 oz.)

2 c. thinly sliced strawberries

1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced

5 oz. feta, crumbled

Poppyseed Dressing:

⅓ cup avocado oil (or olive oil)

3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons honey 

1 tablespoon poppy seeds 

Pinch of ground dry mustard(optional)



  • Whisk all the dressing ingredients together until combined. Add a pinch of salt and pepper, or more to taste. Add spinach, strawberries, and onion to the bowl with the dressing and toss to combine. Pile salad onto plate and top with a generous crumbling of feta.
